Fancy applying to be a volunteer with us?

Great, let’s get started…

Because volunteers are so important to our work, we want to make it as easy as possible for you to join us; however we do need to balance this with the needs of our clients and our responsibility to make sure that you get the best out of volunteering.  Here’s how we manage it:

  1. You fill in the application form on our website.
  2. We do an initial assessment of your form. If we have opportunities that might suit you we send you information to set up a date and time for a short interview plus an invite to our next Volunteer Recruitment Day. This sounds grand but we like to think of it as a get-together to see if we’re a good match.
  3. If we don’t have volunteering opportunities suitable for you we let you know by letter, as soon as possible.
  4. At the Volunteer Recruitment Day, you will:
    • find out more about volunteering with Citizens Advice
    • have a tour of the Leeds building
    • take part in a group exercise - nothing scary, promise
    • have the opportunity to chat with some of our existing volunteers and get the low down on what it’s like to be part of the team.
  1. We’ll send you a letter by post as soon as possible after the Assessment Day to let you know if you’ve been successful or not. If you haven’t been successful it just means we don’t have anything suitable, we’ll give you details of other potential volunteering opportunities in the Leeds area.
  2. If you’ve been successful your letter will have details of what volunteering role we can offer you, the start date of your formal training plus details of how you can get involved prior to any training course start date
